Why you sometimes can't understand native English speakers
Every week I hear from a new student that tells me that they have all manner of problems understanding natives even though they have a super high level of English according to Cambridge or ielts.
Why is this? Well, frankly the answer is simple, if a little bit brutal. Your not a native speaker. It really is that simple.
You wouldn't expect to be able to play a musical instrument to concert hall levels after learning to use it for a couple of years. That level of ability takes years of constant hard work. So why would you think that your language skills are going to be that same as a native after going to English lessons 3 times a week for a couple of years?
Sorry, but that is the truth of it. All you can do is learn how to cheat the system as much as possible. Something I tell all my students to do in every lesson.
